Overview

Some people manage to avoid paperwork when they travel: package holidays within Europe spring to mind. Even when they do cross passport producing country borders they still may not have had the fun of procuring a visa as the tour operator will have taken care of all of that.

And even if they have been to their local embassy and stood in line that's not quite the same as rocking up to a border on the assumption you can get a visa on the spot.

And even if they've done that they're pretty unlikely to have taken their own vehicle across a border.

Fortunately, we're not transporting restricted goods so even we are well short of maximum paperwork but it's still plenty enough to be proud of.

So, there's vehicle paperwork as well as personal paperwork to contend with when you cross a border.

Maps are your friends.

You'll want to spare a thought about money too.
