Heated Gear

I'm planning to run through some mountains and it might get cold. Too cold for me. The answer is to plug yourself into the mains by which I mean your heated clothing into the bikes battery.

It's not quite as simple as just plugging your heated clothing into the bike's battery. You might want to worry about pulling too much from the battery. Depending on your bike, the alternator might not have enough oomph to keep you warm and the bike moving especially when the battery is a bit under the weather because of the cold.

Although, to be fair, unless you've got heated grips, HIDs and some air con running you'll probably be OK on a reasonable sized bike. But just check, right?

My money is on EXO2 (especially if they have a sale soon) where I'd get a heated jacket (gillet to be more precise) and heated gloves.

Looks like it includes free Ready Brek.

Thermal Layer

In the meanwhile I bought myself a complete set of silk thermals balaclava and glove liners from Patra (but don't tell anyone as dressing like a ponce is a private thing!)

I was disappointed that the woman with the fifties-style pokey breasts was not included. I think we could have done the shared bodily warmth thing.
