The XT has just tripped 40,000km-not bad for 2yrs and 1wk old-and 8361km for the trip so far. Late as ever, first NLer F saw the bike and wanted a chat and offer some tips then the usual hour taken to escape the clutches of the city-why is it always so hard to signpost out of a city? Multicoloured rock leaving Tabriz then a quite verdant valley. All the hills look bare but are covered in dry grass-this is the wrong time of year to be here!
