Knowing I wouldn't get to N-N today I thought I'd go for a wander through the countryside and pick up a motel on the M7.
Where the tarmac ran out (here) I negotiated the 200m of slick mud aiming for the dry ground beyond.
Except beyond was thick cloying mud. I made it 300m further up in my vain attempts even to turn around. I could stand next to the bike with it in 1st gear. Rear spinning with no grip and front stuck solid with mud.
I walked back to the village and found a farmer with tractor to carry my (abandoned) luggage and push me back to the slick mud where the standing water could clean the tyres!
