17:40. Stuck at my 4th or 5th police checkpoint in 100km on the Bander-e-Abbas to Bam road after sunset with 200km to go. Each one takes up to an hour to arrange an escort that can go as little as 5km. There's been a few IR troops but the usual friendliness to me. I'm currently banned from the bike waiting for the next escort having express my dismay at the delay so far. To no avail, they don't teach English in the police.
