The views are superb but you pay the price to get here. A 2.5hr jam at 3700m where the two lanes of traffic tried to negotiate 400m of thick sludge and steep mud+rock slope. 6.5hrs for the 115km.

Local advice is to take another night at Sarchu @4200m another 100km up the road then go to Leh.
