Taj Plaza Hotel,Agra,IN. 20:15. The Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays so it was a quick motor round this afternoon. Surprisingly, it is surrounded by red sandstone buildings (ignoring that the south/ticket gate is through a tight and squalid market), the key ones with white marble inlay. This is standard Mughal architecture and whilst the TM is very pretty you can see immediately that it is not archtecturally unique. The poor visibility (atmospheric not smog apparently) rather let the sunset down. Hot news re:Bhutan-their NY bank account number is wrong. Oops.
