Not quite the vista I'd imagined but better than Gilgit, for sure. The whole KKH seems to have been cut through the same brown "foothills" (ie. 3500+m) with the odd snowy peak behind. Green oases cling to the sides on what look like ancient seabeds. Here it's the grey Hunza river scouring the land.
It's nice to have enough time during the day to stop and take pictures let alone do a bit of sightseeing. It's been a bit of a rush so far, this trip.
