A Happy New Year to all from Kutch (or rather Kachchh[sic]) as they are proud to be different from the rest of Gujarat. One kid did try to teach me some Kutchi but my laboured attempts to repeat him were more amusing than accurate. The recommended rest. "in the heart of town" involved asking any number of people somewhere beyond the market before venturing down a dark alley and finding the name at the top of some stairs. I double checked, the name was not displayed in English other than as described. A tasty thali though I left not feeling full and realised I'd not had a drink today. Not alcohol (this us a dry town) but simply a drink at all since coffee at breakfast. Not dessicated yet.
