Only a short run up the very good GT road for 4.5hrs. I passed an Elite Punjab Police van where the guys wore NO FEAR t-shirts and didn't wave back.

Dusty, poor vis. all day. First half fields were semi-cultivated then the land rose a few 100m, became sandy with only Acacia? shrubs for vegetation.

Very hot, reached 53C on the meter in the sun in a jam a km before the hotel.

Third ATM gave me some money to pay for this nice but outside budget hotel ($47+food).

Not ideal news moving forwards: getting to Besham (250km) tomorrow should be fine the remainder (300km) to Gilgit could take all daylight, ie a 4/5am start.
