The local Internet shop closed its doors as I walked up last night and this morning refused to talk to my SSL server so I can't refile my Junk mail anyway.
In the meanwhile the excellent man running Jailoo (local B&B, transport, etc) here has booked me into the Uzbek embassy for Tue 9:50.
I've stopped for a cup of tea in the cafe/bar where a man has just downed half a glass of vodka. My first authentic former-USSR drunk!
Waiting for the local bank to open for 45Som/$1, better than the CN border at 32! There were no other options, mind.
