9:50. Just over half way, just over 4hrs, good progress though the road is getting worse. This mornings' revellers congregated at village ponds lit by fluorescent tubes, guided by shrilling women on the PA cranked up beyond distortion. Some would get in the pond, others let off fireworks, then they all went home. Now just regular traffic to deal with. More straw houses here and the NH31 has been a causeway since crossing the Ganges.
