17:10. L. has some intriuging buildings but left me a bit cold (although hot and humid). The Residency has cannonball impact shoulder-high in the 20ft deep basement!? Looking forward, I'm curious about the ever-lit fires of Varanasi (not mentioned in LP) and will have 2nts there then there's some acc. nr. Patna though Rajgir (SE) to P. takes 3hrs on a bus-it's less than 100km! So I don't think I'll make it to Siliguri, 500km?, from P. even if I left at dawn. There's nothing else mentioned in the LP between P. and S. though it would be great if I could make it to S. on the 13th and into Jaldhapara (just S of Bhutan border-3+hrs from S.-have to book M-F) for the 14th. I'm having to think in this neon-lit sports bar (rehydrating!) suffering mostly dance music and 2mins of AC/DC :)
